The long-awaited GMC Sierra EV is here, and it is proving to have been well worth the wait. If you’ve been anxiously awaiting your opportunity to check out an electrified GMC Sierra for sale, the time has come. For now, the Sierra EV is only available in the Denali trim, but that’s not really a downside, is it? After all, the Denali is the luxury trim of the standard gas engine Sierra 1500, and we don’t know many drivers who wouldn’t want the comfort and convenience features in that trim.

Finally, drivers who appreciate the incredible power and capabilities of the GMC Sierra 1500 and who want to move into the EV space can have it all (and then some) in the 2025 GMC Sierra EV. This model is packed with standout features in the areas of performance, convenience, technology, and comfort. It’s a workhorse, like its ancestors, but it’s one of the prettiest and fastest workhorses you’ve ever seen. So, let’s go over our favorite features of the 2025 GMC Sierra EV. (And note that it was really hard to keep this list brief!)

Charging as Fast as Lightning

Getting a charge that’s not just fast but also substantial had previously been a challenge for EV drivers. If you wanted to truly get in and out of a public charging station, you had to accept that you weren’t going to charge your battery much. Now, that changes because the GMC Sierra EV accepts 800V public DC Fast Charging, which can add 100 miles to your battery in just ten minutes. So no more standing around for a half hour, just to get enough charge to make it through one day’s commute.

The Exhilarating Max Power Mode

You’ll continue to enjoy the breathtaking power you’ve come to expect from all GMC vehicles in the 2025 GMC Sierra EV—and that’s all thanks to the Max Power Mode. MPM taps into your battery to unlock additional horsepower and torque, providing even instant torque for breathtaking acceleration. So when you’re going uphill with a trailer in tow and feel your vehicle becoming sluggish, just hit that MPM button and prepare for speed.

A Self-Sustained Power Source

If you suffer a power outage in your area, the consequences can range from inconvenient to devastating. From food to medication, there are critical items you need to keep refrigerated. If you’re experiencing severe weather, going without AC or heat could be dangerous. You might work from home and find yourself unable to make an income with no power. We could spend all day counting the problems that occur without power. Luckily, you won’t have to think about that during an outage when you have the Sierra EV because it can act as a backup power source.

When equipped with the right GM charging kit, your Sierra EV can provide power to your home for up to 21 days. Hopefully, that’s more than enough time for the city or electrical company to handle the issue. One thing’s for sure: going three weeks without power is not an option.

More Storage Than Meets the Eye

The Sierra EV is going to astound you with its storage space. You have, of course, the box bed in the back, but there are even more secret storage perks you can’t see at first glance. Let’s start with the e-trunk, which is the extra trunk in the front of the truck. Remember, there’s no gas engine up there anymore, so GMC has transformed that open space into storage space. The e-trunk is lockable and weatherproof, so it’ll keep your belongings safe from the elements and theft. It gains you an additional 11 cu.ft. of storage space, so imagine what you can do with that!

Moving to the center of the truck (yes, we said the center), behind the rear seats, is a MultiPro midgate. When you remove the back glass window and put down the rear seats, you can also put down this midgate and extend your bed up to nearly eleven feet when you have the rear tailgate set to the load stop function. This configuration unlocks the ability to transport some extra-long items.

The Air Ride Adaptive Suspension

Comfort and performance are always priorities for GMC, and that continues to be apparent in the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension. This system lets you increase or reduce the height of your Sierra EV, which offers benefits like easier entries and exits from the cab, improved aerodynamics, better stability when towing, and better electric range.

Diagonal Movement With CrabWalk

If you happen to see a truck moving in a funny, sideways motion, it’s probably not malfunctioning; it might be the Sierra EV. This model’s CrabWalk feature lets the rear wheels turn in the same direction as the front wheels, enabling diagonal movement. This comes especially in handy when navigating congested, messy parking lots or off-road environments where you need to get around staggered obstacles.

A Huge Configurable Touchscreen

You’ll feel like you have a laptop built into your truck with the GMC Sierra EV’s 16.8-inch touchscreen. Every graphic—from turn-by-turn directions to incoming caller info—will be massive and easy to see. Plus, you can customize the layout, choosing which apps and other data you see most prominently. From vehicle status and drive modes to Google Assistant and Alexa, it’s all clearly laid out on this massive screen.

Let the Light in With a Sunroof

Do you get claustrophobic in cars? You won’t feel that way in the Sierra EV, thanks to its massive fixed panoramic sunroof. It lets the sun in (but only the good parts) thanks to infrared and UV coatings that protect you from harsh rays, so you can enjoy the spacious, uplifting feeling of natural light without arriving at your destination sunburned. Plus, the coating prevents the sun’s rays from being too harsh on device screens.

Generous Safety Features

You might need to worry about being on time for appointments or keeping clients happy, but you won’t need to worry about your safety with this truck’s driver assistance features. From automatic emergency braking (which helps you avoid head-on collisions) to side bicyclist alert (which keeps you aware of cyclists) to traffic sign recognition (which projects traffic sign icons onto your information cluster), this suite of features has your back in nearly every situation. Plus, its driver attention assist will even alert you when you lose focus, prompting you to return your attention to the road. There are nearly a dozen of these features!
