  • Power and Performance

The 2024 GMC Canyon comes with one powerful turbo engine option. Get more than enough capability for towing, hauling, or cruising with the best-in-class 310 hp 2.7L Turbomax engine, which delivers 430 lb-ft of torque and max towing of up to 7,700lbs when properly equipped. Opting for trims like the Elevation or AT4 and adding the available ProGrade Trailering system will ensure that your Canyon reaches its maximum towing potential.

    Engine and Drive Modes

The standard 2.7L engine is designed with an automatic stop/start system for improved fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. The engine is paired with GMC's improved 8-speed automatic transmission for a smooth driving experience no matter the terrain.

Selectable drive modes are available on all 4WD models and allow drivers to quickly adjust their truck's performance to meet the demands of the terrain. Switch between Off-road, Normal, Tow/Haul, and Terrain to ensure your truck is always performing at its best. For additional modes, the top-of-the-line AT4X also has Baja Mode for increased performance on sandy surfaces.

    Ground Clearance

It's also worth noting that the Canyon is all about taking things to a new level, so it features standard off-road suspension across all four of its trims. Enjoy 9.6 inches of ground clearance on the Elevation and AT4 models, an increased 10.5 inches on the Denali, and 10.7 inches on the AT4X. To take things up a notch, check out the AT4X AEV edition to get an impressive 12.2-inch ground clearance.

    The Available AT4X AEV Edition

When you want to push things past the limit, the all-new AT4X AEV edition is more than capable. This special edition was designed and equipped by the masters at American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for the ultimate overland adventure. Besides its unique stamped nameplates and aggressive front grille, the AEV edition features off-road-ready tech and engineering to tackle the roughest and toughest terrain you can find. GMC even calls the off-roader "the most advanced and capable Canyon ever." It features 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires and AEV beadlock-capable Salta wheels. With five AEV hot-stamped Boron steel skid plates that protect the rear differential, transfer case, and more, the AT4X AEV edition doesn't mess around when it comes to adventure.

  • Comfort and Convenience

The midsize Canyon is offered as a crew cab with a short bed, so seating consists of two front-row bucket seats and a second-row bench for a maximum of five passengers. The refreshing interior is as bold as it is beautiful, with strong lines and durable materials. Drivers will enjoy the rich black cloth upholstery that can be upgraded to leather and even paired with various accent materials like teak or rich timber, depending on the trim. Enjoy traditional style flair with high-end available touches like the stitched AT4X logo with the Obsidian Rush interior or laser-etched open-pore wood trim on the Denali.

The cabin's interior features thoughtful designs to ensure you can make use of every inch of space, thanks to the wide glovebox and cubby features that help you keep essentials on hand. If you take your music seriously or enjoy the finer things in life, upgrade your system to the available Bose 7-speaker audio system to get the next best thing to a live performance.

The seating is designed to cushion the driver and their passengers, so you feel supported whether you're heading over rocky ground or a smooth highway. Drivers can increase their comfort levels to suit their preferences with an 8-way power driver heated front seat with power lumbar support, available on the Elevation and standard on the AT4, AT4X, and Denali trims. Ideal for long drives or just taking the chill out of an early morning drive, it's the details that set the Canyon apart from the pack.

The convenience extends to the available MultiStow tailgate with a handy built-in storage compartment for road kits, supplies, additional gear, or whatever the journey calls for. This best-in-class feature is complete with a drain to prevent pooling water or make cleaning a breeze. The flexible cargo bed of the Canyon makes it easy to pack up equipment, tools, etc. You get eight standard tie-downs plus standard remote locking/unlocking tech to increase the convenience and security of your truck. Additional features add to the Canyon's versatility. Upgrade with the CornerStep for less strain when loading or unloading. Add a 120V power outlet to ensure you have the power you need off-road. Drivers can also add a half-gate position to their tailgate for extra convenience and safety when hauling longer objects like timber.

  • Technology

The Canyon is all about making connectivity effortless for drivers. Its cutting-edge technology and safety systems make off-roading, towing, and daily driving safer and more rewarding than ever before. The easy-to-read class-leading standard 11-inch Driver Information Center and 11.3-inch diagonal center touchscreen are each cleverly positioned so the driver can keep their focus on the road while ensuring you can stay in the know on speed, alerts, and check navigation without getting distracted.

For further convenience, a Head-Up display feature is standard on the Denali and AT4X and available on the AT4. This display projects information onto the windshield without obstructing your view, and drivers can customize the screen to their preferences.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard across all trims, creating a seamless connection between the driver's smartphone and the Canyon. This allows drivers to send or receive messages, view preferred apps, enjoy personalized playlists, and more.

    More Camera Views

Need an extra set of eyes? Drivers get access to multiple camera angles depending on the trim option. The Elevation features a standard HD Rear Vision Camera and Hitch View for easier and safer trailering. The high-end trims, the Denali and AT4X, each feature up to 10 available camera views, which can include an underbody camera. This is a segment first that delivers front and rear views under your truck, making it easier to view terrain and various obstacles without having to climb out.

    Driver Assist Features

Standard across all four trims is GMC's Canyon Pro Safety technology, a combination of safety and driver assistance features there to lend a helping hand and keep you confident behind the wheel. Included are:

    • Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking - This system warns you of a potential collision and provides hard braking assistance to help avoid or minimize collision damage.
    • Following Distance Indicator - Ideal for long or mundane drives, the following distance indicator keeps track of the space between you and the vehicle in front of you, ensuring you maintain a safe distance in case of sudden braking.
    • Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking - This feature detects movement in front of you to keep you aware. The tech provides alerts and even hard braking to lessen or prevent an accident.
    • Lane Keep Assist With Lane Departure Warning - Got a long drive ahead of you? This system has your back, helping you stay centered in your lane, altering you if you drift, and even providing gentle steering assistance to guide you back into your lane.
    • IntelliBeam - IntelliBeam takes the stress out of night driving. The system senses oncoming traffic and can automatically adjust your beams before and after it passes.

Drivers can upgrade for more features with the available Canyon Safety Plus Package or opt for the Denali trim, which has the Safety Plus Package as standard. Additional systems include Rear Cross-Traffic Braking, Blind Zone Steering Assist, and Rear Park Assist.
