2025 Buick Envista vs 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross Comparison

Here at Jim Ellis Buick GMC Mall of Georgia, we focus on providing a fantastic shopping experience for our customers and making sure they get everything they’re looking for. You have a lot of options available to you when it comes to a great SUV—both large, powerful vehicles and smaller, sporty models that are equally functional and fun to drive. If you want a small SUV, then a compact or subcompact model is probably perfect for you; even with things narrowed down, however, you still have a number of vehicles to choose from. We find it helps to look at just one or two at a time—such as the 2025 Buick Envista vs 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross—to see how they compare.
These are both impressive SUVs with a lot to offer in their small frames, making them ideal for city driving and finding parking spots anywhere you go. As you start looking closer at them, however, it becomes clear that Buick has gone the extra mile to deliver a fantastic SUV that is rich in features while presenting you with a startlingly budget-friendly vehicle. There is a notable difference in the starting prices between these two models, with the Buick Envista coming in at a lower figure—and yet, you get a lot of features on the base Envista that go far beyond what the Toyota Corolla Cross starts with; in fact, the Envista gives you numerous things you simply cannot find with the Corolla Cross.
For example, looking inside the Corolla Cross, we see that Toyota provides an eight-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display along with a 4.2-inch Multi-Information Display (MID) for the driver. This would not be terrible if a larger infotainment screen were available, but every Corolla Cross is stuck with this eight-inch screen. By comparison, Buick gives you a standard 11-inch infotainment display inside the Envista, along with an impressive eight-inch Driver Information Center display. You can find similar differences throughout these models, where Buick gives you more to enjoy and make the most of each day in the Envista, even though it starts at a lower price than the Toyota Corolla Cross.

Interior

There are a lot of different aspects to consider when you are shopping for your next ride. Although a lot of people like to talk about performance, we think what you get on the inside is far more important. Most of the time you spend with your vehicle will be inside of it while driving, after all, so it is vital that you choose something with a cabin that you will enjoy being inside. Both of these SUVs have a lot to offer, but when you take a good look inside the Buick Envista, it is easy to see that it provides you with a lot more to enjoy while driving each day.
With the 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross, we find an interior that is well-designed overall, and at first glance, it seems quite nice. Toyota provides comfortable seating and a fairly spacious interior, with nearly 43 inches of legroom up front; the 32 inches of legroom for the back row seems a bit lacking, though. As you look closer, these deficiencies begin to add up; for example, we find an eight-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia display as the only option. This is joined by a meager 4.2-inch MID for the driver, which is shockingly small for a vehicle like this. The available seven-inch MID is a better option, but you can only find this on the highest XLE trim for the Corolla Cross, which is a shame.
By comparison, the 2025 Buick Envista starts with better features, which means you get a lot more without having to spend more. For example, your backseat passengers get nearly 39 inches of legroom to stretch out in, which is a huge difference, and any of your passengers with long legs will thank you for choosing the Envista. Its starting features include an 11-inch infotainment display with wireless support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is far larger than what Toyota offers. Similarly, an eight-inch Driver Information Center dwarfs the standard driver display in the Corolla Cross and is larger even than the available option from Toyota. Once you start looking at options like heated leather seats and a wireless charging pad, it becomes clear why so many people choose the Buick.
Safety

As we work with our customers to help them figure out which vehicle is perfect for them, we tend to give equal weight to each aspect of an SUV. We adjust the importance of how we view things based on what you are looking for, but we generally begin with a good balance. The exception to this, however, is safety; the most important thing to us about any vehicle is how well it can help keep you safe. Without that, nothing else matters; we are pleased to see that these are both safe SUVs with an impressive selection of standard safety tech—although Buick gives you more.
Looking at standard safety technology for the 2025 Envista, every model comes with a Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking. You also get an HD Rear Vision Camera for a high-resolution rearward view and Rear Park Assist to help you when backing up to avoid obstacles you might not be able to see. A Following Distance Indicator is standard, along with Lane Keep Assist, a Lane Departure Warning, and IntelliBeam automatic high beams that switch off to avoid blinding drivers in oncoming traffic. Buick also provides a Teen Driver tool standard, which is perfect if you have a young driver since it helps reinforce safe behavior and good habits when they are driving.
The 2025 Corolla Cross comes with the Toyota Safety Sense suite of driver assistance features, which includes many systems similar to what Buick provides. A Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection is included, for example, along with a Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. Toyota also provides Automatic High Beams and a backup camera, although we prefer the clarity that the Envista’s HD Rear Vision Camera provides. Other features like Rear Parking Assist are only offered on the highest trim level and are not available for the starting trim; you will not find anything quite like the Teen Driver tool on any Corolla Cross either. We are happy to see that this is a safe SUV, but Buick gives you more to help protect you and your loved ones.
Value

There is a lot to like about the 2025 Buick Envista, but what draws many people to it and has caused so many reviewers to love it is the remarkable value it offers. Few vehicles out there give you this much to enjoy at such an accessible price; in fact, it is one of the most generously priced SUVs in its class. But a low price can sometimes mean you end up with a stripped-down model that has very little going for it. The combination of a great price and the incredible standard features that the Envista delivers—like its large interior displays—is what creates such a tremendous value for you to enjoy each day.
The 2025 Toyota Corolla Cross is not massively more expensive by any means, but it does cost more while also giving you less. You find much smaller screens inside compared to the Envista, even if you go with its available MID rather than the standard one. The overall look and feel of its cabin is generally not as refined as what you get inside the Buick Envista, resulting in an SUV that feels more like a budget option. You would expect to pay a lot more for everything Buick has packed into the 2025 Envista, but you don’t have to!
