2020 Sierra HD Revealed

 2020 Sierra HD

Just after we have all finished turning the page on our 2019 calendars, GMC teases us with a reveal that has us counting down until summer. With a bigger, taller and longer, HD truck that is full of new features and gee whiz technology that we'll soon wonder how we survived without these gadgets.

New for 2020 will be a new 10 speed Allison transmission mated to the Duramax diesel that'll put out an impressive 445 horsepower and 910 ft/lbs of torque. All this as part of the realization that most people that buy a HD pickup are concerned with, first and foremost, towing. Probably the neatest part of the towing technology aboard is the 15 camera views, including the two camera, transparent trailer view.

With a boosted trailering capacity passing 30,000 pounds that Sierra HD offers the GMC ProGrade Trailering App that we first saw on the 2019 Sierra 1500. Also shared with the 2019 Sierra 1500 will be the MultiPro, 6 functional position, tailgate that will be standard on the SLT, AT4 and Denali trim levels.

More technology rides up front. Ever consider replacing the rear view mirrow with a rear view camera/monitor? A multi-Informational Heads Up Display will provide to the driver info on speed, navigation and feature a inclinometer to measure road (or off-road) grade.

Carried over from the 2019 the 2020 Sierra HD will be available in the 2500 and SRW 3500 configuration and will feature the tried and true Sierra HD trim levels of Base, SLE, SLT and Denali plus introduce the AT4 into the HD segment.

Pricing and full definition of trim levels and equipment will be released later this year before a summer 2019 launch. Keep watching the Jim Ellis GMC website for delivery and availability of the 2020 Sierra HD in Buford and Atlanta.
